From individual receptors towards whole-brain function
The "receptome" - new approaches for computer models, diagnostics and therapy.
With colleagues from Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona and Oxford University we present concepts of receptor-specific modulations of brain states. We further propose how in silico obtained predictions can be refined by experimental methods.
Our long-term goal is to develop new ways of diagnosing and treating mental disorders. We report our perspectives and related current literature in a State-of-the-Art Review in the FEBS Journal, published by the Federation of European Biochemical Societies.
